Job Title:
Repair Technician Job Description Join a dynamic team that manufactures and services essential systems such as brake and HVAC systems for Mass Transit companies. As a Repair Technician, you will initially focus on assembling and repairing brake systems, with the opportunity to receive training and certification in HVAC systems. Responsibilities Disassemble equipment and perform cleaning as needed. Evaluate and inspect equipment, providing feedback on required parts and labor. Document evaluation findings and generate a Technician Evaluation Report. Route wires and install crimp terminations and connectors. Test and record results for subassemblies and assemblies. Conduct component and some system level testing as instructed. Interpret readings from gauges, indicators, and dials. Assist in testing equipment and recording test results. Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment. Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment, ensuring compliance with company rules and policies. Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE guidelines and regulations. Safeguard business records. Troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems. Essential Skills Experience using hand and power tools. Mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to read and follow diagrams and written instructions. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in repair, assembly, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude in equipment maintenance and inspection. Time management skills to ensure timely repairs. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities guided by policy and routine. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry and report writing. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a shop environment involving sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling, with a maximum lifting/carrying weight of 50 lbs. The shift is from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays when available. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.62 - $25.62/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
