Job Description

Job Description Insight Global's client is seeking a Fiber Internet Installer for a 6 month contract with potential to extend. The Fiber Internet Installer will install, maintain, and repair fiber optic internet services for residential customers. This role involves working directly with customers in their homes, ensuring high-quality installations, excellent service, and a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  •  Install fiber optic internet services in residential homes, including running fiber lines, mounting hardware, and connecting equipment
  •  Perform splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables to ensure proper signal strength and performance
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve service issues, including connectivity problems and equipment malfunctions
  •  Configure and activate customer equipment such as routers, modems, and ONTs
  •  Educate customers on service usage, equipment functionality, and basic troubleshooting
  •  Maintain accurate records of installation details, service calls, and completed work orders
  •  Ensure all work complies with company standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols

Skills and Requirements Must Haves:
  •  1+ years experience in a trade-adjacent position and comfortable with power tools
  •  Excellent customer service and communication skills
  •  Active valid drivers license and clean drivers record
  •  Ability to pass a background check
  •  Prior experience in telecommunications and fiber optics
  •  Basic understanding of fiber optic systems, networking, and low-voltage wiring
