Position Summary Vescent Technologies seeks to hire a full-time Fiber Optic Systems Technicianto assemble and test cutting edge photonic devices with applications ranging from next generation atomic clocks to quantum computers. A successful candidate will be a competent multitasker with exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm to learn. Our collaborative work environment affords ample opportunities for skill development and professional growth. This full-time, in-person position will report to the Production Manager. Responsibilities- Operate fiber splicing equipment per written instructions
- Assemble micro-optic and fiber products
- Use micro-positioners to place and actively align optics with sub-micron accuracy
- Perform functional testing, calibration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of assembled modules
- Document yields and performance test results
- Test printed circuit boards and assemble electronic products
- Collaborate with prototyping staff to further refine processes and work instructions
- Work autonomously in a cleanroom environment Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field (i.e. Physics), quantum technician training, or equivalent experience
- Excellent dexterity, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and comfort using microscopes
- Commitment to workplace safety practices
- Strong communication and priority management skills to work with team members and supervisors
- Organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment Desirable Additional Skills
- Familiarity with optical fiber splicing and micro-optic systems
- Familiarity with electronics and test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.) Benefits
