Electrical Maintenance Technician Job Description This role maintains the quality, reliability, and safety of high-speed packaging and end-of-line automation equipment. You will ensure all equipment remains in good working condition through preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and basic mechanical repairs, supporting continuous and safe production operations. Responsibilities Maintain and perform preventive inspections and maintenance on plant production and support equipment as assigned. Maintain the quality and integrity of high-speed packaging and end-of-line automation equipment to ensure safe operating condition. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on automated equipment. Test, install, and repair plant equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and improve reliability. Perform basic mechanical work as required to support equipment operation and maintenance. Use software and a laptop computer to interface with and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs, inverter (VFD) drives, and servo systems. Work routinely with 24V DC control voltage and 480V AC power while following all safety procedures. Document all work performed in an SAP Maintenance System accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate daily work activities, findings, and recommendations to peers and leadership. Observe and follow all compliance practices and procedures in the performance of duties. Follow compliance processes such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety / Food Defense, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Arc Flash procedures. Support continuous improvement of maintenance practices and equipment performance by sharing observations and suggestions with the team. Essential Skills Experience as a maintenance technician with a focus on automated or high-speed packaging equipment. Strong preventive maintenance skills for production and support equipment. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting of automated equipment and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics accurately. Hands-on experience working with 24V DC control circuits and 480V AC power systems. Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs and adjustments on production machinery. Preferred minimum of 2-5 years of relevant maintenance experience, depending on overall qualifications and skill set. Experience documenting maintenance activities in a computerized maintenance management system, preferably SAP. Ability to use software and a laptop to interface with and troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and servo systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred experience troubleshooting PLCs, particularly Allen-Bradley / Rockwell platforms. Experience working with inverter (VFD) drives and servo systems in an industrial environment. electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or packaging facility. Comfort working with high-speed packaging and end-of-line automation equipment. Ability to work effectively on a rotating schedule and adapt to changing priorities in a production setting.
