Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of SMT and CCA production equipment within a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and supporting production efficiency through preventative and corrective maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with SMT manufacturing equipment, automated production systems, and electronics assembly processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform installation, setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of in-line SMT and manufacturing equipment. Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, replace defective components/modules, and perform corrective maintenance activities. Conduct preventative maintenance, system evaluations, and immediate repairs on equipment utilized in the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) production process. Monitor, evaluate, document, and improve manufacturing equipment performance and operational reliability. Interpret and work from detailed schematics, engineering drawings, diagrams, specifications, technical manuals, and written/verbal instructions. Support basic modifications or redesigns of optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems integrated into existing manufacturing equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and electronic test equipment to support troubleshooting and repair activities. Maintain maintenance logs, repair records, inventory documentation, and equipment tracking systems. Collaborate closely with Production Line leadership, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Test Engineering teams to support manufacturing operations and process improvements. Ensure compliance with
ESD, PWB
handling, safety, and manufacturing quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance, SMT production support, or electronics manufacturing environments. Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting SMT, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems. Experience using mechanical hand tools, soldering equipment, and electronic test instruments. Demonstrated problem-solving and root cause analysis skills involving equipment, processes, and production systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and maintenance documentation. Experience supporting preventative and corrective maintenance programs in electronics manufacturing environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, overtime, first shift, or second shift as required. Ability to safely work in environments involving exposure to manufacturing chemicals and production materials. Candidate must be able to read and write English proficiently.
Desired Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with SMT production equipment including: MyCronic Pick-and-Place (PnP) systems Universal Instruments Pick-and-Place (PnP) systems KohYoung and/or YesTech AOI systems SMT CCA Inline Wash systems MPM Screen Printers Experience supporting high-volume SMT/CCA manufacturing operations. Associate degree, vocational certification, or equivalent technical training in electronics, manufacturing technology, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred. Bachelor's degree is desired but not required. BI03
Pay:
$26.00•$35.00 per hour
