Field Technician/Instrument Person Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent. Driver's License Due to the nature of the job, English communication skills are required. No experience necessary, employer will train. Must be able to travel 25% of the time. Must be able to perform job duties in various terrain and climates. Read instructions, plans, and specifications. Employer will conduct Background check and MVR check. Engage in field work for extended periods and occasionally under adverse weather conditions as necessitated by work assignments. Understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketches. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be subject to weather conditions (hot and cold temperatures, rain). Established Land Surveying Company based in Palm Bay, Florida seeking qualified field worker(s). We are specifically looking for qualified Instrument worker but are willing to train the right candidate. The areas being surveyed include Brevard and Indian River Counties. Field worker assists with proper research prior to going to a job site and is responsible for accurately operating applicable instruments and data collectors under the guidance of the Party Chief.

Duties:

Sets up equipment and accurately gathers survey data. Clears topography when needed to ensure accurate data gathering (may be done through brush hooks or chain saw). Ensures trucks are stocked and ready for job site each day. Carries various instruments such as survey instruments, hammers, stakes, etc.

Physical Requirements Seeing:

Must read reports.

Hearing:

Communicate with employees and clients

Standing/Walking:

Must be able to move about on job sites and walk various distances (terrain can vary and may include walking at a steep incline/decline).

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:

Must stoop or kneel, be able to climb over a fence if needed and climb stairs.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing:

Regularly lift 25-50 pounds.

Fingering/Grasping/feeling:

Must type and use technical sources.
