POSITION DETAILS
Qualified candidate will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair marine electronics equipment, while adhering to company quality and repair standards. Candidate's primary responsibilities will include disassembling equipment; performing bench, board, and circuit level troubleshooting; repairing defective circuits, and devices; re-assembly / final bench testing of the completed equipment. The ideal candidate would have previous experience and/or training in SMT soldering, component level electronics testing/repair, and proficiency using a multi-meter, oscilloscope, and other diagnostic equipment. Previous experience with marine electronics is a plus; board level repair experience required.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Disassembly and re-assembly of electronics equipment to be repaired. Perform board and component level diagnostics on defective PCB. Perform component level soldering (SMT & through hole). Keep track of all devices and log all repairs in our proprietary software suite. Create and maintain technical repair documents. Refine and improve repair techniques and processes. Maintain a neat work area. Track and maintain component stock levels. Work closely with other departments and service personnel to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various marine electronics devices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or Technical Diploma. Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience). Minimum 4 years experience with bench testing and troubleshooting at component level. SMT soldering and IPC 610 certification a plus. Ability to troubleshoot at board level with and without schematics. Must have demonstrable troubleshooting and repair experience as well as basic computer (PC) skills. Detail oriented and the ability to demonstrate problem solving and consultative skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong technical and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently while exercising good judgment, as well as part of a team.
