Instrumentation & Electrical Technician III Pay:
$27-32/hr.

Tampa, FL 3-4 month Instrumentation & Electrical Technician III The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician III is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining complex electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure reliable and efficient facility operations. This role supports a variety of equipment including PLCs, SCADA systems, analyzers, sensors, motors, valves, and other electrical and process control devices. The technician also serves as a mentor to less experienced team members and ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues using specialized testing and diagnostic equipment. Inspect, maintain, calibrate, and repair process instrumentation including pH analyzers, chlorine residual analyzers, ozone analyzers, turbidity meters, pressure transmitters, and flow meters. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA systems, control panels, and associated electrical equipment. Diagnose, repair, and calibrate electrically actuated control valves and related process control devices. Install, modify, and repair advanced electrical wiring systems and equipment. Dismantle, repair, replace, reassemble, and test electrical and instrumentation components to ensure optimal performance. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems. Inspect and test emergency generators, cathodic protection systems, and other critical facility equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration reports, and work documentation. Assist with inventory management and ordering of parts and equipment as needed. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians. Participate in rotational 24-hour emergency on-call coverage. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial, manufacturing, utility, water/wastewater, power generation, or similar environment. Strong understanding of electrical safety practices, occupational hazards, and maintenance procedures. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC and SCADA systems. Ability to install, repair, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, controls, gauges, meters, analyzers, and electronic systems. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Certifications State Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification required. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily field-based role with exposure to industrial operating environments. Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and industrial hazards including noise, dust, chemicals, rotating equipment, electrical systems, and varying temperatures. Frequent walking, standing, climbing ladders, and working at heights up to 50 feet. Ability to enter confined spaces when required. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Schedule Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM On-Call Requirements Participation in a rotating 24-hour emergency on-call schedule is required. EEMOS
