Job Description
Schumacher Elevator Company is seeking a talented Electronics Engineering Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in building, testing, and troubleshooting elevator controllers and assemblies. The ideal candidate is skilled in electronics, thrives on problem-solving, and excels in critical thinking and collaboration. What you'll need for this position: 2-year Electronics Engineering Technician degree or equivalent experience Strong electrical design and troubleshooting skills involving motors, VFDs, PLCs, circuit boards, and electromechanical systems Programming skills for PLCs, HMIs, and embedded controls Ability to read and understand schematics, and written specifications Ability to work independently and collaborate as a group towards a common purpose Ability to troubleshoot remotely with personnel in the field Available to travel occasionally (10 - 15% of the time) What you'll be doing: Wiring, testing, and verifying the operation of elevator panels and other electrical assemblies Troubleshooting new and existing elevator equipment and collaborating with other team members to solve complex technical issues Recommending changes to manufacturing processes that improve efficiency of assembly, installation, and support of our products throughout their lifecycle The details: For 90 years Schumacher Elevator has been a well-known and respected family owned and operated company that designs, manufactures, installs and services custom passenger and freight elevators.
