Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Generator Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of generator systems and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure the reliable operation of power generation units across various industries, supporting critical operations and customer needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, develop your technical skills, and contribute to the seamless functioning of vital power systems. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on generators, including diesel engine repair and electrical troubleshooting. Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately identify issues and implement effective solutions. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to maximize equipment lifespan and operational efficiency. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to repair mechanical components and electrical systems. Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large generator parts or equipment during installation or repairs. Collaborate with customers to diagnose problems, explain repair procedures, and provide exceptional service. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and documentation for all repairs performed. Skills Proven dealership experience or service technician background with a focus on generator or heavy equipment repair. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and automotive repair principles. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately. Hands-on experience with electrical work such as soldering, electrical troubleshooting, and wiring repairs. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Physical ability for heavy lifting tasks and working in various environmental conditions. Experience in equipment repair or vehicle maintenance is highly desirable. Familiarity with sales processes related to parts or service is advantageous for growth opportunities within the team.
