Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine physical inspections and perform general maintenance on existing manufacturing equipment.
Safety & Compliance:
Strictly adhere to lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols, NFPA 70E arc flash safety standards, and local electrical codes.
Reporting & Redlining:
Document all hardware changes and update software backup files. Redline existing physical schematics to reflect field modifications accurately.
PLC Programming & Modification:
Write, upload, modify, and optimize PLC ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams directly in the field using software like Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or Omron.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles including schematic reading, wiring diagrams, and blueprint interpretation. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters (ohmmeters), oscilloscopes, and other electronic testing equipment. Ability to perform root cause analysis on electrical failures to identify underlying issues efficiently. Knowledge of NEC standards and electrical codes relevant to industrial environments. Skilled in programming PLCs and scripting languages like Python for automation tasks. Mechanical knowledge related to electro-mechanical components for integrated troubleshooting efforts. Experience with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO), equipment troubleshooting, schematic creation, and electrical blueprint reading. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment testing, debugging electronic systems, circuit testing, and electronic system troubleshooting. Competence in using hand tools for electrical wiring and assembly tasks in manufacturing settings.
