Resident Automation Cleanliness Technician TGW Systems Inc - 3.6 Aurora, IL Job Details Full-time $24 - $29 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation High school diploma or GED Computer skills Mobile devices Full Job Description The Automation Technical Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, condition, and operational readiness of automated material handling equipment within the facility. This role plays a critical part in supporting equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and ensuring a safe working environment. Working closely with the engineering and maintenance teams, the Technical Cleaner helps preserve the integrity of system components, proactively identifies potential issues, and contributes to overall site performance and safety standards. This position operates within a highly automated warehouse environment and requires a strong understanding of safety practices, including working at height and around energized equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment & System Cleaning Clean and maintain automated equipment including conveyors, sortation systems, palletizing machines, sensors, and surrounding infrastructure Remove dust, debris, product, and contaminants from critical components to support optimal performance and longevity Perform detailed cleaning of equipment and infrastructure within TGW-managed areas Vacuum, wipe down, and maintain cleanliness of system zones within scope Maintenance Area Help maintain cleanliness of workshops, workstations, and maintenance areas Ensure all TGW-designated areas meet high standards of cleanliness and organization (5S alignment) Tools & Equipment Use Safely operate cleaning equipment such as industrial vacuums, and other provided tools Utilize proper cleaning techniques appropriate for sensitive automation equipment Safety & Compliance Adhere to all site safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and working at height procedures Support safe work practices when cleaning elevated equipment (up to 18 meters), including use of fall protection Maintain awareness of hazards within an automated environment and act accordingly Promptly report safety concerns, equipment damage, or abnormal conditions Inspection & Issue Identification Identify and report early signs of wear, damage, or potential system issues to engineering teams Support preventative maintenance by ensuring equipment remains clean and accessible Administrative & Team Support Complete required documentation and task tracking related to cleaning activities Communicate effectively with engineering and site leadership teams Support additional maintenance or operational needs as required Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Experience:
Previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or automated environments preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards Ability to safely work at height and in an industrial environment Willingness to follow strict safety protocols and procedures Basic understanding of industrial or automated systems (preferred but not required) Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, reaching, and standing for extended periods Key Success Factors Consistent execution of cleaning standards that directly support equipment uptime Strong safety mindset and adherence to all site procedures Proactive identification of risks and issues within the system Effective collaboration with maintenance and operations teams Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk around industrial and/or warehouse environment for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices. Visual and auditory abilities to work safely with and around moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts, and electricity that require safety protocols Ability to move and use muscles for extended periods of time without fatigue. Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Ability to communicate regularly with others verbally and in writing. Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
