Resident Automation Technician III TGW Systems Inc - 3.6 Aurora, IL Job Details Full-time $38 - $47 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Industrial mechanic experience Industrial equipment troubleshooting High school diploma or GED Electrical systems Full Job Description The Resident Automation Technician III supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site's performance through trouble-shooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer sites, the Resident Automation Technician III must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained. Weekday Nights 4:00pm -03: 00am
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible. Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned. Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems. Lead maintenance efforts to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues requiring in-depth technical knowledge. Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations. Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable. Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments. Skills & Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems. Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience. Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics. Knowledge of Profibus and Profinet. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.) Ability to travel up to 10%. PLC programming and troubleshooting knowledge preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk around industrial and/or warehouse environment for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices. Visual and auditory abilities to work safely with and around moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts, and electricity that require safety protocols Ability to move and use muscles for extended periods of time without fatigue. Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Ability to communicate regularly with others verbally and in writing. Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
