Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for a skilled Electrical Controls Technician to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of automated manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on PLC systems, electrical controls, and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced production environment. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts Overtime available (1.5x after 40 hours, 2x after 48 hours) Weekend work as needed based on production demands Benefits 10 paid holidays PTO available upon start Performance-based raises Stable, long-term opportunity in manufacturing Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, and PLC I/O modules Troubleshoot electrical systems including 480V, 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives, and soft starters Diagnose and repair control systems using electrical schematics Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs, including ladder logic modifications Maintain and troubleshoot encoders, load cells, and other feedback devices Troubleshoot communication networks (Profibus, serial, and industrial Ethernet) Support and maintain automated equipment including conveyors and production systems Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns Assist with continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Hands-on experience with PLC systems and servo controls Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Preferred Qualifications Experience with PLC programming and HMI systems Experience in packaging or food manufacturing environments Familiarity with CMMS systems Knowledge of encoders, servo motors, and amplifiers Understanding of safety practices (lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE)
