Job Title:

12 months with possible extension based on performance and business needs.

Elgin, IL 60124 Position Overview Our client is seeking a Configuration Technician to support staging operations for field deployments. This individual will configure, test, troubleshoot, and ship sophisticated telecommunications equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and configuring Windows computers, servers, and networking devices while working in a fast-paced team environment. Candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience are preferred; however, candidates with less experience who possess a technical degree or certification will also be considered. Responsibilities Configure, test, troubleshoot, and ship sophisticated telecommunications equipment. Set up and configure Windows computers, servers, switches, firewalls, and networking devices. Read and follow build and configuration documentation. Enter and maintain required data accurately. Support staging operations for field deployments. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership. Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision. Maintain a quality and safety-focused mindset while performing assigned duties. Rotate between various positions within the organization based on business needs. Required Qualifications Basic to moderate Windows and Google computer skills. Ability to read, understand, and execute build and configuration documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Quick learner with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Good attendance record. Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including overtime and weekend work as needed. Ability to sit and/or stand for 8 hours or more during scheduled shifts. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently. Must wear steel-toed shoes. 1 to 3 years of related experience. Technical degree or certification. Experience with networking equipment. Experience with Cisco and HP networking equipment is a plus. Scripting knowledge. Basic debugging of automation scripts is a plus. Work Environment Onsite position. Factory environment. Safety-sensitive role requiring adherence to company policies and procedures. Training Approximately 2 to 4 weeks of training before working independently. Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Hiring Manager. Receives day-to-day direction from the Team Lead. No direct reports. Travel No travel required.
