Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Cylinders, Inc. is a specialty hydraulic repair shop with basic machining capabilities to fabricate hydraulic cylinder parts. We are a small but growing machine repair business seeking a full-time entry level maintenance technician/mechanic to join our shop team.
TITLE:
Repair Technician Level 1 PRIMARY
FUNCTION
This is an entry level mechanic position for repair of hydraulic cylinders that will have paid, on-the-job training with senior technicians. Work will involve all functions required to disassemble, releasl, and reassemble hydraulic cylinders. Normal shop hours are 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, however, Saturday work may be offered at select times. All work is inside with temperatures between 60°F and ambient summer temperatures. This position will report to the senior machinist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Abide by and maintain all safety procedures as required by Cylinders, Inc. and OSHA. Refer to the employee policy manual. 2. Until capable of completing repairs independently, provide support to lead technicians for equipment repairs. 3. Disassemble hydraulic cylinders. 4. Clean and inspect equipment under repair. 5. Select proper seals for cylinder repair. 6. Assemble and test hydraulic cylinders. 7. Assist with tool organization and cleaning of the shop. 8. Clean Shop, dump trash, clean tools, and sweep floors. 9. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor. 10. On occasion, pick up and deliver materials or equipment using a company-supplied truck.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent GED. Technical certificates for equipment repair, welding, or maintenance are a plus. Physically able to lift 50 pounds and perform manual labor. Significant physical abilities including, reaching/handling, takin/hearing conversations, near/far visual acuity/ depth perception, and standing for long periods of time. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose, repair, and complete equipment repairs 2 years' experience working in auto, truck, heavy equipement repair, or manufacturing in a shop environment Experience driving a fork truck for occasional handling of equipment and materials Valid driver license with proof of insurance PAY We will compensate any prospective employees fairly based on prior experience, with little to no experience starting at $20 per hour.
