• Accelerated Design Verification (Milan, IL) This is an entry-level, long-term 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $25/hr , including 1 week of PTO and full health benefits. Operating 100% onsite on 3rd Shift (10:00 PM
• 6:30 AM, Sunday night through Friday morning) in Milan, IL, this role works inside the Accelerated Design Verification (ADV) testing lab—assembling mechanical test rigs, monitoring automated test cycles, inspecting test specimens, and documenting test data.

Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:

Up to $25/hr (W2) .

Location:

100% Onsite at John Deere ADV Lab ( Milan, IL ).

Duration:

1+ Years (Providing solid contract stability).

Shift & Hours:

3rd Shift (10:00 PM

• 6:30 AM, Sunday night through Friday morning).

Core Responsibilities Test Rig Assembly:

Assemble mechanical test rigs based on layout drawings and setup instructions using hand tools, power/air impact wrenches, overhead cranes, hydraulic plumbing, and electrical control cables.

Test Monitoring & Control:

Monitor automated test runs, adjust controls as necessary to keep tests operating efficiently, and perform emergency shutoff procedures if required.

Inspection & Documentation:

Inspect test specimens, perform minor repairs per test parameters, and log all test incidents/activities using web-based documentation tools.

Continuous Improvement:

Document changes to setup procedures or layout drawings to improve future testing cycles.

Lab Support & Logistics:

Maintain lab cleanliness and organization (putting away tools, mopping, vacuuming), pick up parts from the John Deere Parts Distribution Center, and run operational errands as needed.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills Mechanical Aptitude:

Strong hands-on mechanical skills (experience using hand tools, power tools, or working on machinery/automotive repair).

Computer Skills:

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with Windows file/folder management (copying, moving, and organizing files).

Technical Drawing Literacy:

Ability to read and interpret basic dimensioned part drawings and test layout schematics.

Work Ethic & Autonomy:

Ability to work safely and independently during 3rd shift hours with strong attention to detail.

Shift Availability:

100% onsite availability in Milan, IL ( 3rd

Preferred / Standout

Qualifications Current enrollment in or graduation from a technical/mechanical degree program (e.g., Black Hawk College or equivalent trade school). Experience with machinery teardown, vehicle maintenance, or equipment repair. Exposure to hydraulic systems, servo-hydraulics, or electrical control cabling.
