We are seeking a Packaging Automation Technician to support high-speed automated packaging equipment in a food or CPG manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, calibrating, and optimizing packaging machinery to maximize uptime, efficiency, and product quality. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automated packaging equipment including cartoners, flow wrappers, HFFS/VFFS systems, tray sealers, conveyors, servo-driven equipment, and pneumatic systems. Job Duties:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed packaging equipment and automated production lines Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, machine setup, calibration, alignment, and timing adjustments Support packaging equipment including: Cartoners Flow wrappers HFFS/VFFS
systems Tray sealers Conveyors Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, sensor, servo motor, and basic electrical systems Optimize machine performance, packaging line efficiency, and equipment reliability Read schematics, technical drawings, and OEM manuals Utilize CMMS to document maintenance activities and repairs Support GMP, HACCP, SQF, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance Assist with equipment installation, startup, and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred 2+ years of experience maintaining high-speed packaging equipment in food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, or CPG manufacturing Strong mechanical troubleshooting and automation experience Experience with pneumatics, sensors, servo motors, conveyors, and automated packaging systems Basic PLC exposure (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred) Ability to read schematics and technical manuals Welding/fabrication experience is a plus Ability to work overtime, weekends, or flexible shifts as needed Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
