QuincyQuincy, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview:
Controls Specialist for robotic fabrication and assembly support/system build. Position requires the individual to provide support, guidance, & training to Automation Technicians. Provides advanced troubleshooting for electrical, mechanical, & programming failure modes. Must be self-starting and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Advanced troubleshooting of robotic adhesive applications, robotic weld applications, robotic material handling systems, and other industrial systems or machinery as needed. Evaluate and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in PDM. Identify design impacts to automation systems and coordinate with Internal & External resources to resolve system incompatibilities. Non-Production programming of Robotics, PLCs, Cameras, Conveyors, & External equipment. Collaborate and direct internal teams to define roles and areas of responsibility as they pertain to automation. Modification of System HMI & Operation Modification of tooling & systems to reduce modes of failure and increase reliability. Troubleshooting, direction of maintenance personnel and equipment suppliers during line stoppages. Assists in fixture and assembly design and integration. Engage product engineering with design related issues and drive them to closure. Enforce good design for manufacturability principles. Develop and qualify new processes and tooling. Training of operations staff & Automation Specialists. Provides guidance to Automation Specialists on Advanced modes of failure. Assists in system design and development of new automation. Identifies & solves complex electrical and mechanical problems. Additional Duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Associates in Engineering/Mechatronics or 6-12 months of experience as Automation Technician Familiarity with manufacturing methods and experience supporting production teams. Working knowledge of Network systems & Operation Fanuc Handling Pro Certification Dual Check Safety Certification 2D Vision Or Advanced TTP Certification A working knowledge of Robotics, PLC, HMI & Programming. Able to write simple program in Structured Text or Ladder Logic Basic Mechanical Knowledge & Skillset Basic Electrical Knowledge & Skillset. Solid works or comparable solid modeling program and MS Office. Ability to self-learn new processes and apply concepts rapidly. Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate progress to management. Willingness to learn new concepts and continue education.
