ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

(TITLE 32), WG-2602-11, you will perform calibrion, diagnostics repair, and certificion of electronic, mechanical, and radiion Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Calibres and repairs TMDE within support capability and authority including various levels of calibrion as designed in technical bulletins, manuals, etc. Performs functional electronic, physical, and radioactive testing involving interpretion and analysis of measurement da, in accordance with cyclic inspection requirements. Aligns, troubleshoots, tests, inspects, repairs, modifies, calibres and certifies precision measurement equipment such as multimeters, microwave equipment, oscilloscopes, temperure analyzers, mercurial barometers, gage blocks and micrometer caliper dimensional equipment, digital voltmeters, signal generors, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, torque testers, weight scales, electronic counters, radiion monitors, radix calibrors, and radiion dosimeters. Analyzes and isoles component malfunctions; calcules and determines tolerances; and performs tests and calibrions in accordance with instructions, which are often vague and incomplete, and may require the preparion of diagrams and instructions to facilite the calibrion action. Sets up system test sets and various types of test equipment such as frequency meters, standing wave rio meters, radio frequency (RF) power meters, function/ arbitrary waveform generor, distortion analyzers, time frequency work stions, oscillors, voltmeters, electronic counters, oscilloscopes, tenuors, decade resistors and capacitors, signal generors, stroboscope, tachometers, pneumic and hydraulic pressure standards and other physical and electronic tests. Diagnoses equipment, makes repairs, and replaces defective parts/components such as integred circuits, printed circuit boards, electronic condition coils, radiion detector boards/circuits, crystals, transistors, tubes, transformers, condensers, diodes, relays potentiometers, and reled components. Following repair, tests by applying signals in known amplitude and wave shape into oscilloscopes to observe wave ptern. Isoles faults by taking measurements and comparisons in voltage, amperage, ohms, henries, power factor, wts, temperure, humidity, microns, foot-pounds, decibels, sensitivity, noise, stability, Voltage Standard Wave Rio (VSWR), impedance, phase, absolute pressure, time intervals, displacement, flow re, etc., to determine performance of equipment. If signal is distorted, traces it through electronic stages to loce malfunctioning part. Checks sweep re by feeding known signal to an oscilloscope and observing wave ptern to correct shape and size. As needed, contacts the using organizion to obtain informion concerning the nure of the malfunction. Uses equipment schemics to analyze circuits by preparing block diagram showing major components such as amplifiers, filters, oscillors and indicors. CW2 GENERAL EXPERIENCE

: MUST possess experience or training which demonstres a working knowledge of electronic principles involved in the generion and measurement of such elements as voltage, current, impedance, capacitance, frequency, and inductance; experience in the use of various precision measurement instruments and standards.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

: WG-11 Level MUST possess experience or training with basic applicion of opering principles such as the production and utilizion of oscillions over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplificion; pulse, trigger, and synchronizion techniques; digital/analog processing and da conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indicion methods; experience in tracing signals and voltage phs, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, durion, frequency, and phasing; origines test set-ups to isole malfunctions and check performance characteristics of special or unique test panels or mockups; experience in interpreting and applying a variety of technical electronic informion such as schemic symbols, mhemical expressions and formulas, calibrion procedures, and other reference merials; experience in applying established techniques and methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibrion of equipment, which serves as test equipment or precision measurement standards; experience in utilizing electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.
