Job Summary:
Responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, and participating in preventative maintenance activities (both routine and project based). Responsible for ensuring proper PLC functionality through routine checks and assistance in PLC programming. All work will be completed in compliance with Hydro safety policies, EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations. What you will be doing Supports and sponsors all continuous reliability improvement standards and practices Implement preventative maintenance measures Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol Perform routine checks of PLC software/ hardware to ensure the proper functionality of the automated controls within the Extrusion Presses and rack-handling systems Engage in continuous improvement and risk- prevention initiatives by crafting and installing new controls as needed (i.e. guarding on equipment) Good understanding PLC software Follows applicable Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions Understands and follows all safety policies Able to work set schedule for full 12hour shift Work in both hot and cold conditions What will make you successful?
Required Education/Experience:
High school diploma PLC certification required
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of maintenance / PLC experience is preferred Electrical, Hydraulic, and/ or Pneumatic schooling/ certificates a plus Basic computer application skills Understanding of PLC functionality Ability to read a tape measure Basic mathematical skills Ability to use power tools and other industrial maintenance equipment Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic applications Equal opportunities Hydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
