Job Title:
Lead Automation Technician Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled individual to lead a team of 8-10 maintenance technicians in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role demands strong electrical expertise, leadership ability, and a commitment to operational excellence. Responsibilities Supervise, mentor, and coordinate a team of 8-10 maintenance technicians. Ensure safe and efficient maintenance of electrical systems up to 480V. Oversee work on cabinets, transfer switches, and Pick system robots. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, and automated warehouse equipment. Support PLC‑controlled systems used in automated distribution or warehouse environments. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to minimize downtime. Perform electrical troubleshooting, including low‑voltage wiring, testing, and repairs. Use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to test circuits, sensors, and components. Assist with controls and automation troubleshooting, including identifying faults in PLC‑based systems. Support preventive maintenance (PM) programs and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills Strong expertise in automation, troubleshooting, and electrical systems. Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC. Experience in maintenance management and supervision. Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Leadership skills to manage a team of 8-10 maintenance technicians. Additional Skills & Qualifications Military experience, bringing discipline and structured problem-solving skills. Prior supervisory experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN 46268. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $102000.00/yr.
