Job Title:
Engineering Specialist Job Description We are seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist to join our team, responsible for executing engineering tasks and maintenance activities with autonomy. This position requires a proactive approach to evaluating alternatives and making independent decisions to enhance equipment reliability and optimize maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, proficient in systematic troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment issues within manufacturing and maintenance environments. Responsibilities Program PLCs for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation equipment to ensure reliability. Systematically troubleshoot equipment and direct maintenance technicians or contractors as needed. Lead the installation of industrial equipment, including machinery and automation systems. Provide technical hands-on support for advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control issues. Develop and implement maintenance schedules, identify and order necessary parts, and ensure regulatory compliance. Conduct regular inspections and machine Gemba walks, making necessary repairs and updates. Install and upgrade system components for optimization and perform diagnostics for system adjustments. Promote effective use and accuracy of the departmental CMMS, including work orders and spare parts management. Participate in evaluating team skills and recommend internal or external training. Identify improvement opportunities for installed equipment and propose cost-reduction initiatives. Mentor and train maintenance technicians. Essential Skills Proficiency in automation, equipment installation, and maintenance. Strong supervisory skills and experience in PLC troubleshooting. Hands-on maintenance experience and ability to direct maintenance teams and contractors. Expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC support. Ability to develop and implement maintenance schedules and manage spare parts ordering. Familiarity with AutoCAD, mechanical, electrical, PLC programming, and robotics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree in manufacturing or electro-mechanical engineering technology, or completion of trade school, or an associate degree in engineering technology with at least 7 years of related work experience. Prior supervisory or lead technician experience is preferred. Experience in PLC and robotic programming. Work Environment The role involves spending 90% of the time on the manufacturing floor and 10% on desk work. The workweek is 50 hours, with .5 overtime pay after 40 hours. The environment is relaxed and fun, encouraging camaraderie and a sense of community. The team consists of individuals who enjoy a small-town, country atmosphere. Work is conducted in a manufacturing environment located in a country town, and on-call status rotates to ensure balanced responsibilities among team members. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Eminence, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
