Description:
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems, and electrical equipment in the plant. The I&E Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection, calibration, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of all electronic and electrical plant equipment and systems. The I&E Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This person will work an hourly M-F position. The Refinery Process is a 24/7 operation, so work hours on occasion could require nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Overtime is permitted for the I&E Technician.Responsibilities:
Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems. Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair plant instrumentation i.e., transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays, guided wave radars, mass flow meters, pressure transmitters, RTDs etc. Inspect, repair, and remove all types of generators, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and work with electrical systems Troubleshoot 480V 3-phase electrical systems, MCCs, VFDs, and motors. Programming of automation systems (DCS - Delta V) Maintain instrumentation and electrical spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability. Assist engineers and managers in conducting tests. Participation in incident investigation and corrective action development as a part of a continuous improvement program. Support mechanics and operators. Perform general electrical maintenance and housekeeping. Scope and manage instrumentation and electrical installations and capital projects, including supervising of contract labor.Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum I&E Certification, related degree, or 4-year apprenticeship Minimum 3 years' experience in a plant environment Experience working in a small plant environment is a strong plus Ability to work well with others and be self-directed with only general supervision Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Email, ability to learn company-specific programs) Understanding piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, loop sheets, and wire lists DCS Programming skills is a strong plus, experience with Delta V is ideal Ability to provide solutions quickly and accurately in stressful situations Able to communicate with internal company personnel and external vendors effectively Must have outstanding interpersonal skills, communicating well with employees, peers and superiors verbally and in writing.Similar remote jobs
