Laser Assembly Specialist (1st Shift)

The Laser Assembly Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of optical and mechanical assembly operations on microscopic laser components using precision tools and equipment. This is an entry-level position for which on-site training is provided as needed. All work takes place in a well-ventilated, cellphone-free cleanroom. We are currently hiring for first shift (6:00am-2:30pm).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks are assigned based on the individual's strengths and may include the following: processing, sorting, and/or inspection of laser diode bars and chips fabrication of laser diode assemblies, including solder mounting, wire bonding, lens alignment/attachment, and/or fiber splicing/connectorization inspection, preparation, and/or testing of laser diode assemblies and related components Use computer system to review work orders and related documentation and to record time and results. Recommend process improvements to management.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, including the ability to manipulate small, fragile components under a microscope. Good depth perception and close vision. Comfortable wearing full, hooded cleanroom attire while working. Strong work ethic and organization skills. Ability to follow written assembly procedures.
