This position works closely with cross-functional engineering teams during prototype, pre-production, fabrication, assembly, and testing activities. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required Position Overview As the Senior Engineering Technician, you'll be responsible for supporting hardware engineering teams in the design, fabrication, integration, assembly, and testing of complex electrical and mechanical systems. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, including prototype and pre-production builds, cable and harness fabrication, and system/subsystem chassis integration. This role requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and interconnect documentation to build and integrate hardware assemblies. Daily responsibilities include fabrication, assembly, testing, checkout activities, and circuit board rework involving both surface mount and through-hole components. You will help identify potential integration, manufacturing, and design issues prior to production while ensuring work is performed in accordance with technical specifications, standards, and engineering requirements. What You Bring to theTable:
Associate's degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering technician experience Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance U.S. Citizenship required Experience supporting electrical and mechanical prototype and pre-production builds Experience with cable fabrication, cable harness fabrication, wiring, chassis build, integration, and assembly Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, schematics, and interconnect documentation Experience performing fabrication, assembly, testing, and checkout activities Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, written instructions, verbal descriptions, and defined plans Experience using hand tools for hardware assembly and integration Understanding of circuit board rework procedures, including surface mount and through-hole component replacement Ability to perform white-wire modifications and follow engineering rework instructions Knowledge of complex specifications, requirements, standards, and technical practices Ability to assess work requirements and provide applicable solutionsWhat Sets You Apart:
IPC J-STD-001
(CIS) Certification Ability to solder using a microscope Experience using pin and socket crimp tools Familiarity with military-style connectors, including D38999 connectors Understanding of the hardware development lifecycle Experience identifying and resolving integration and build issues Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience working within collaborative cross-functional engineering teamsAbout Our Client:
