Job Title:
Electronics Technician Job Description This role offers an opportunity for a hands-on Electronics Technician to troubleshoot electronic systems and components, support basic programming activities, and work closely with a lead engineer. You will use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools to test and analyze circuits, while maintaining clear documentation and communicating effectively with your team. This is a long-term position with opportunities to learn new technologies and grow your technical skills in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electronic systems and components to efficiently identify and resolve issues. Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools to test, measure, and analyze electronic circuits and systems. Operate a custom panel programmer (after training) to perform basic programming tasks and verify system functionality. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of troubleshooting steps, repairs, test results, and programming changes. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively with engineers and other team members. Collaborate closely with and work under the direction of a lead engineer to support project goals and deliver high-quality results. Apply new skills and technologies learned on the job to improve system performance and support continuous improvement. Work independently as an individual contributor while also contributing positively to team efforts. Essential Skills Proficiency in using oscilloscopes for testing and analyzing electronic signals. Proficiency in using multimeters for electrical measurements and diagnostics. Strong hands-on troubleshooting abilities for electronic systems and components. Ability to read and work with electronic schematics. Basic programming skills with the ability to learn and use custom panel programming tools. Experience performing precise soldering, including surface-mount soldering. Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills for technical work. Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Ability to work independently with minimal direction while meeting assigned objectives. Proven experience contributing as an individual contributor in a technical role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a technical team. Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and challenges. Motivation to support long-term projects and continuously improve processes and system performance. Work Environment This is an onsite role in a dedicated electronics environment where you work directly with test and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, custom panel programmers, and soldering tools. You collaborate closely with a lead engineer and other technical staff in a hands-on lab or production setting. The position is structured as a long-term opportunity and offers paid time off and holidays aligned with the facility's schedule. The environment emphasizes safety, accuracy, and professionalism, with appropriate attire expected for an electronics lab or technical workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Westford, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
