- Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mid-level Electronic Security & Low Voltage Technician to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electronic security systems and low voltage infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of client facilities through innovative system design and reliable service delivery. Duties Install, configure, and test electronic security systems including CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection systems (IDS), fire alarms, access control, and sensors. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of low voltage systems such as cabling, power supplies, and communication networks. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, system design documents, and technical manuals to accurately install and repair equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment to perform precise installations and repairs in construction or retrofit settings. Manage remote access software for system monitoring and diagnostics; ensure secure connectivity for remote troubleshooting. Collaborate with clients during system design phases to recommend optimal solutions tailored to their security needs. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and logs of all work performed for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking principles relevant to security systems and telecommunication infrastructure. Mechanical aptitude with experience handling power tools and hand tools Proven field service experience with a focus on electronic security equipment installation and maintenance. Familiarity with computer hardware components used in security systems such as servers, controllers, and network devices. Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately. Experience working with intrusion detection systems (IDS), sensors (motion detectors, glass-break sensors), CCTV cameras, fire alarm systems, and surveillance equipment. Electrical experience including low voltage cabling (structured wiring), NEC compliance standards, and power distribution fundamentals. Knowledge of system design concepts for integrated security solutions; ability to recommend appropriate hardware/software configurations. Experience in alarm system sales or client consultations is a plus; strong communication skills are essential. Construction background helpful for installations in new builds or retrofit projects.
