We're hiring an Instrumentation Technician (Calibration & Testing) in Winslow, Maine . This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in maintenance, electrical work, manufacturing, or mechanical repair —or someone who's mechanically inclined and ready to learn. Whether you've worked in a mill, shop, plant, or field service role, this could be a natural next step. What You'll Be Doing Calibrate, test, and verify equipment used in production and quality processes Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components Perform minor repairs and adjustments to instruments and devices Use basic tools and test equipment (gauges, meters, etc.) Follow clear procedures to ensure accuracy and safety Record results and support quality or operations teams What We're Looking For Backgrounds that transfer well: Maintenance Technician /
Mill or Plant Experience Electrical or Electronics Technician Automotive or Mechanical Repair Manufacturing or Production Technician Field Service or Equipment Technician What You'll Do:
Perform calibrations and adjustments for numerous calibration devices, typically in the temperature, humidity, pressure, physical dimensional, torque, force, and electrical disciplines. Maintain proper documentation, which includes but is not limited to the metrology database, calibration certificates, equipment history forms, timesheets, and automated calibration software. Conduct self-studies to improve and maintain technical proficiency in calibration theory, methods, and equipment. Communicate to customers as it relates to the progress of the testing, repair, and services. Accompany senior staff members to locations and calibrate equipment on-site. Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion. Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail. Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
What You'll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work. Communication skills to exchange straightforward information. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
