Job Description
About the Role As an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and precision of complex process instrumentation systems during high-impact maintenance periods. You will leverage your technical expertise in electronics and pneumatics to troubleshoot, calibrate, and optimize critical control systems, directly contributing to the operational integrity of the facility. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive testing, calibration, and repair of electronic, electrical, and pneumatic instrumentation, including transmitters, controllers, and alarm modules. Perform advanced diagnostics and maintenance on microprocessor-controlled radiation monitoring and reactor protection systems to ensure peak performance. Install and modify complex instrumentation equipment, including wiring, cable terminations, and pneumatic tubing, while ensuring adherence to design specifications. Collaborate with engineering teams and technical representatives to troubleshoot specialized equipment and implement system improvements. Maintain rigorous documentation standards by reporting equipment anomalies, out-of-specification conditions, or hardware damage. Utilize electrical schematic and blueprint reading skills to perform precise wiring and installation tasks. Adhere to strict safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, while working in diverse industrial environments. Required Skills Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field. Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and controls. Demonstrated proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, wiring, and basic programming. Ability to pass comprehensive background checks, drug screenings, and maintain site access qualifications. Physical capability to work in industrial settings, including climbing, standing for extended periods, and navigating confined spaces. Preferred Skills Direct experience working within the nuclear power industry. Advanced knowledge of radiation monitoring systems and reactor control logic. Proven ability to interpret complex technical manuals and electrical diagrams.
