Validate the diagnostic software strategy:
shorted high, shorted low, open circuit, rationality, functionality, for LV1 and LV2. Write software change requests to improve diagnostic strategies or reduce warranty as necessary. Support VRT Engineer to resolve issues related to Torque Security diagnostic performance in vehicle testing. Support VRT engineer as needed in the development of new test procedures for fully electrical vehicles. Reviews VRT test results with VRT engineer to ensure correct DTC is set as well as MIL and MIL settings. Perform DTC validation to ensure the MIL and/or ETC lamps is on as expected. Perform DTC validation and confirm the correct vehicle reaction and limp home occurs to ensure the vehicle behaves in a safe manner. Validate calibrations according to the DVP&R. Review engine scan data with PTSR Reliability Engineers to develop action plans to identify root cause of System Reliability, Durability and 3/36 fleet issues. Coordinate fleet issue response.
Key Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of diagnostic requirement for Powertrain components (Engine, Transmission, Electrified and Hybrid Powertrain, etc.) and ensure compliance with CARB regulations. Receive high level functional and technical safety requirements from Powertrain SDO team, Develop Functional and Technical Safety concepts and architectures to ensure compliance with
ISO26262
Support in implementation of these for each Powertrain components. Support After Sales team with inputs for creation/review of the Diagnostic Synthesis Table (DST)/Technical Specification Document (TSD) for
MAKE/BUY
components Mandatory skills: Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or controls engineering Computer Information, or other suitable degree Engineering degree from a university. Good multi-tasking ability, organized Experience with cross regional teams Driver's license in region for vehicle testing Experience in Powertrain development with domain knowledge in either Conventional or electrified powertrain. Experience in developing diagnostic requirements and software implementation in line with OBD II regulations. Good understanding of DTC proposal requirements, MiL and other warning lamp requirements, AECD requirements. Experience in Functional Safety development and knowledge of
ISO 26262.
Experience in reviewing HARA, creating FSC and
TSC, ASIL
requirements and decomposition. Experience in FMEA, FMEDA and FTA. Knowledge of SAE standards like
SAE J1979, SAE J2012, SAE J1968, ISO26262.
Experience in various CAN communication protocols and usage of tools like CANalyzer, etc. Experience with calibration tools like INCA and MDA. Experience in HiL validation. High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $24.04/hour - $37.56/hour.
