Job Description

Our client is seeking a Safety Diagnostic Calibration Engineer to join their team. As a Safety Diagnostic Calibration Engineer, you will be part of the Powertrain Development Department supporting vehicle safety and diagnostics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Safety Diagnostic Calibration Engineer Location:
Chelsea, MI What's the Job? Calibrate diagnostics to ensure accurate failure mode detection while minimizing false passes and fails. Validate diagnostic software strategies including shorted high, shorted low, open circuit, rationality, and functionality for LV1 and LV2 systems. Develop and support software change requests to improve diagnostic strategies and reduce warranty issues. Collaborate with VRT Engineers to resolve diagnostic performance issues during vehicle testing. Review test results, perform DTC validation, and ensure vehicle safety behaviors such as limp modes are correctly implemented. What's Needed? Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, controls engineering, or related field. Experience with developing diagnostic requirements and software implementation aligned with OBD II regulations. Knowledge of
ISO 26262
functional safety standards and related safety development processes. Proficiency with CAN communication protocols and tools like CANalyzer, INCA, and MDA. Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing) and ability to work with cross-regional teams. What's in it for me?
