POSITION REQUIRES RELOCATION TO THE KALAMAZOO, MI AREA.
Relocation assistance is provided•Overview Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency through PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled production equipment and automation systems. Program and modify Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs to support operational improvements. Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and system calibrations. Diagnose electrical, automation, and control system issues to minimize downtime. Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, GMP, and SQF standards. Qualifications 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, SLC500, and PLC5. Proficiency with RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, and RSLogix 5. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of industrial controls up to 480VAC. Experience with VFDs, HMIs, and reading electrical schematics. Rockwell Maintainer Certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 24 months. Preferred Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment, noise, and varying temperatures. Overtime, weekends, and holiday work may be required based on business needs.
Pay:
$36.00 - $40.00 per hour
