In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems in outdoor environments. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, heavy equipment, and a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional network performance. Duties Install and repair fiber optic cables and systems in outdoor settings, adhering to safety standards such as the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC). Operate heavy equipment including bucket trucks and other telecommunication infrastructure tools safely and efficiently. Use diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to verify network integrity and performance. Perform fiber splicing and cable termination with precision, ensuring minimal signal loss and optimal connectivity. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans to execute complex cabling projects accurately. Conduct telecommunications testing, troubleshooting support, and network diagnostics for fiber optic networks, LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), and Ethernet systems. Maintain detailed records of installation activities, test results, and maintenance logs while following safety protocols such as the NESC. Support telecommunications outside plant operations by managing cable routing, trenching, and aerial deployments using hand tools and power tools. Experience Proven experience in field service roles within telecommunications or fiber optic systems installation. Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment like bucket trucks for outdoor work environments. Skilled in using diagnostic tools, telecommunication testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools for installation and troubleshooting tasks. Strong knowledge of fiber optic cables, splicing techniques, network infrastructure components, and interpreting technical drawings. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN, WAN, Ethernet, telephony systems, and IT infrastructure support. Demonstrated ability to perform telecommunications outside plant operations safely while adhering to industry standards such as the NESC. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on engineering troubleshooting support for fiber optic networks. Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a commitment to safety and quality standards in telecommunications projects.
