As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and performing repairs on vehicles to ensure they meet safety, quality, and performance standards. This role includes basic to moderate mechanical work, replacing parts, conducting system checks, and ensuring all work complies with internal procedures and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Repair Technician Responsibilities Include:
Diagnose issues with vehicles, including noises, vibrations, warning lights, and mechanical failures. Perform basic to moderate repairs such as fluid changes, part replacements, and electrical component repairs. Remove and replace parts as neede,d including brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and wire harnesses. Conduct quality checks and test drives to ensure vehicles are road-ready. Check and top off fluids, including oil, transmission, and brake fluids. Properly document all work performed, hours, and parts used. Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate tools and equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Communicate effectively with team leads and supervisors about issues, progress, or delays. Adhere to Suburban Automotive Services' DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision. Repair Technician Qualifications and Skills:
Must meet company background check and drug screen requirements. High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of hands-on experience in vehicle repair or maintenance. Valid driver's license required. Basic diagnostic skills and mechanical troubleshooting ability. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods. Must have basic hand and power tools. Ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles preferred. Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Must be a reliable team player with the ability to work independently. Basic computer literacy for documentation and repair order entry. Repair Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include:
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in confined spaces. Work is performed in a garage or shop setting with exposure to vehicle fluids, tools, and equipment. Must be comfortable working in varying temperatures and around moving vehicles.
