Controls Engineer (Contract)

Rate:

$60.00 per hour About the Role We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controls Engineer for an immediate 3-month contract to support a major manufacturing retooling project in Michigan. This role requires a specialist who can hit the ground running to modify, program, and commission automated systems on a fast-paced plant floor. Key Responsibilities Program and debug PLC and HMI applications specifically for the plant retooling phase. Integrate hardware and software modifications to accommodate new tooling architectures. Provide on-site engineering support during build, try-out, and final commissioning. Troubleshoot complex automation networks and resolve field wiring or configuration errors. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven, hands-on experience with Mitsubishi PLCs or MELSEC platforms (GX Works2 / GX Works3) Direct involvement in automotive or heavy industrial retooling / launch projects . Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (CC-Link, Ethernet/IP), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and safety circuits. 5+ years of dedicated controls/automation engineering experience or a related technical degree. Ability to start immediately and work flexible hours on-site as dictated by the project schedule.

Pay:
