Job Description

Sturgis Molded Products is a plastic injection molding company family owned since 1966 located in Sturgis MI. Using the latest technologies in scientific molding coupled with our superior in-house tool design and engineering; we are able to provide innovative and cost effective plastic solutions for one-stop "Total Solutions Molding." Automation Technician The Ideal Candidate will be a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic. One who places Safety first, Quality second and Efficiency third. This individual must be both a team player and able to work alone with minimal supervision. This individual must have the ability to trouble shoot, diagnose and design new and existing automation cells. This individual must be familiar with specifying and purchasing all components necessary for automation cells. Knowledge and Abilities Required Programing and troubleshooting PLC controls various brands; Rockwell, Siemens, etc. Programing and troubleshooting Servo drive controls and motors Programing and troubleshooting Vision systems (Avalon); Hardware and Software Programing and troubleshooting Robots; Engel, Yushin, Ranger, Fanuc, ABB, etc. Programing and troubleshooting Sensors, relay logic, TTL, etc. Mechanical assembly and fabrication Pneumatic systems; valves and controls Responsibilities and Tasks Follow all safety rules and procedures Design and build new automation cells Trouble shoot existing automation cells Purchase and maintain spare parts Fabricate EOATs. Program Robots Perform Preventative Maintenance Maintain and repair secondary equipment; i.e.- printers, fixtures, poke-yokes, etc. Other job tasks not listed in the job description, but which are also considered to be essential to the position Education Requirement Associates Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial or experience equivalent (minimum)
