Job Description
Test Engineer 28200 Lakeview Dr, Wixom, MI 48393 Full-time Full-time The Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and timely execution of all testing. This includes conducting high-pressure tests on various components, equipment, and systems to ensure they meet safety, quality, and performance standards. This role requires a strong understanding of high-pressure testing procedures, equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols. The engineer will work closely with R D and quality control teams to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct High-Pressure Tests:
Set up, operate, and maintain high-pressure testing equipment and systems. Perform pressure tests on various components, assemblies, and systems according to specified procedures. Manage definition\installation of new test equipment and upgrades to existing test equipment including but not limited to: Working with expert suppliers to define new test equipment specifications Managing test equipment suppliers to ensure that test equipment is delivered on time and meets operational requirements including EH&S and cycle timesQuality Assurance:
Inspect and verify the integrity of components before and after testing. Document and report any anomalies, defects, or deviations from specifications.Safety Compliance:
Responsible to establish safety protocols for use in the testing area Strongly promote adherence to defined safety protocols Follow and strongly promote adherence to defined safety protocols Ensure the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.Equipment Maintenance:
Define preventive maintenance plans and perform routine maintenance and calibration of testing equipment. Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues requiring repair.Testing Documentation:
Responsible for the definition and maintenance of testing procedures Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests performed, including pressure levels, duration, and results. Generate reports summarizing test outcomes and findings.Collaboration:
Work closely with R D, manufacturing and quality control teams to address any issues related to high-pressure testing. Accept and implement feedback and recommendations for improving testing or equipment.Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing processes.Compliance and Regulation:
Stay up to date with industry regulations, codes, and standards related to high-pressure and Hydrogen testing. Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant safety and quality standards.Continuous Improvement:
Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent Proven experience in high-pressure testing or a related field (3-5 years). Familiarity with high-pressure testing equipment and systems. Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Effective communication skills.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds). Comfortable working in confined spaces if required. Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.Travel Requirements:
