Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Certified Shop Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various types of machinery, vehicles, and equipment used within the shop. You will ensure all systems are running smoothly and efficiently, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs:
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on equipment, machinery, and vehicles. Conduct routine inspections to ensure functionality and prevent breakdowns.
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and tire checks on vehicles and machinery.
Troubleshooting:
Use diagnostic tools to identify problems, repair issues, and ensure optimal performance of equipment and systems.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules. Document parts used and labor hours.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines. Ensure the shop environment is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Parts Ordering:
Order necessary parts and materials for repairs, ensuring all required components are available.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service by clearly communicating repair needs, timelines, and recommendations for equipment care.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other shop staff, including supervisors and technicians, to resolve complex mechanical issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a mechanic, technician, or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and electrical components. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and repair equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent; certification in automotive or industrial mechanics is a plus. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Working Conditions:
Work in a shop environment, which may involve exposure to noisy, dirty, and hazardous conditions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more). May be required to work evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on shop demand.
Pay:
$24.85 - $29.92 per hour
