Automation Engineer General Description:
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated equipment and control systems used in our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with PLCs, sensors, robotics, and other industrial automation systems, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up and program/adjust sprue-picking robots on injection molding machines Set up and adjust programs on 6-axis robots (Fanuc) Troubleshoot and program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and vision systems (brands include Allen-Bradley, Maple Systems, Fanuc, Arburg, Cognex, and Delta) Read and follow schematics to assemble end-of-arm tooling for robots Assemble and install custom equipment on the production floor using electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems, including relay logic, ladder diagrams, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids Use Microsoft Office for project documentation and reporting
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of PLC programming experience Minimum 2 years of industrial robot programming experience Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred qualifications (or equivalent demonstrated skills): Associate degree (2-year) in Automation, Mechatronics, Fluid Power, or a related field Experience working with injection molding machinery S10:
