Salary range:

  • $22/hr.
(depending on experience) Summary A proactive and detail-oriented Summer Associate is needed to support the Automation Engineering team by organizing and standardizing engineering labs and hardware storage areas. This is a hands-on, on-site role focused on automation hardware, tools, and components. The position runs for 10-12 weeks and is ideal for students interested in engineering operations, manufacturing support, or automation environments. Job Description Clean and reorganize engineering lab benches, tool areas, cabinets, and shared workspaces Sort, label, and inventory automation hardware, including electronic components, robotic parts, sensors, cables, and tools Maintain an organized inventory spreadsheet or database Identify obsolete or damaged equipment and assist with proper disposal, recycling, or salvage Organize and bundle power, signal, and control cables at workstations Ensure lab setup aligns with safety standards, including proper storage of tools and materials Create documentation, labels, and location maps for tools and equipment Support overall lab efficiency, accessibility, and safety improvements Skills Required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage open-ended tasks Clear communication and follow-through on assignments Comfortable working in a hands-on lab or workshop environment Basic familiarity with electronic components, tools, or automation hardware (preferred but not required) Education/Training/Certifications Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Logistics, or a related field Additional Requirements Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs Self-driven with a focus on enabling safe and efficient work environments MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) required Availability for a 10-12-week, on-site assignment HarveStaff offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
