Job Description
- Job Title: PLC Technician
- Job Description
- As a PLC Technician, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve PLC, HMI, and automation-related equipment failures to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency. You will work cross-functionally with various teams to investigate and resolve control system problems, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability and efficiency.
- Responsibilities
- + Troubleshoot and resolve PLC, HMI, and automation equipment failures.
+ Attend operational meetings to identify and address recurring automation issues.
+ Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to solve control system problems.
+ Analyze programs, ladder logic, electrical controls, sensors, drives, and communication networks to identify root causes of malfunctions.
+ Perform PLC program modifications, troubleshooting, and optimization.
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance machine reliability and reduce downtime.
+ Lead efforts to track and eliminate top automation losses through systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
+ Review breakdown investigations and Root Cause Analysis reports to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
+ Develop and maintain an understanding of machine theory and train personnel on equipment functionality and troubleshooting techniques.
- Essential Skills
- + Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell systems.
+ Experience with ladder logic editing, troubleshooting, and debugging in a manufacturing environment.
+ Knowledge of HMI systems, industrial networking, and SCADA applications.
+ Ability to diagnose electrical and controls issues using schematics and troubleshooting tools.
+ Experience supporting high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
+ Strong root cause analysis and preventive maintenance mindset focused on improving equipment reliability.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $43.
28 - $43.28/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
