A Photonics Technician is responsible for assembling, dismantling, installing, calibrating, testing, operating and repairing lasers. They also may perform alignment procedures, clean optics, integrate lasers with opto-mechanics parts, work on laser documentation and troubleshoot.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform installation of fiber optic cable in both indoor and outdoor settings Blow fiber into duct banks Install fiber optic cabling for phones, internet, television, and other telecommunications Maintain accurate field documentation and supporting project timelines Read, create and maintain schematics and diagrams Ensure all fiber operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications Safety training as required by position Paperwork filing and maintenance of all equipment and vehicles as needed
Essential Education and Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License Willingness to travel
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, crawl, etc. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces Able to work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat) Must be able to identify color The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
