Job Description
At Current Inc. , we're dedicated to bringing world-class fiber internet to the rural communities of Southern Missouri. As a Residential Fiber Optic Installation Technician , you'll be the face of our company in the field — delivering fast, reliable fiber connections directly to customers' homes. This position involves installing and activating GPON-based fiber services, performing splicing and testing, and ensuring every customer experiences the professionalism and quality that define Current Inc. You'll work with advanced tools and systems including Ubiquiti UFiber OLT/ONU platforms , ADSS aerial fiber , underground conduit systems , and PostGIS-based service mapping tools developed in-house. Installation & Activation Perform fiber drop installations from distribution points (handholes, terminals, poles) to customer premises. Mount and connect ONTs, routers, and related customer premises equipment (CPE). Splice and terminate single-mode fiber using fusion splicers, ensuring clean, low-loss connections. Configure ONTs, verify provisioning through Current's internal management systems (NetGIS, Node-CWMP, FlowPBX integration). Route, secure, and label fiber and Cat6 neatly according to company standards.
