Job Description

Position Overview The Engineering Clerk supports the Engineering and Production teams by maintaining technical documentation, keeping accurate records, coordinating engineering changes, and ensuring smooth information flow across departments. This role is essential for keeping product data, drawings, and manufacturing instructions organized, current, and accessible. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs) , and routings within the
AS400 MRP
system.
  • Apply a consistent methodology for assigning part descriptions and routing steps.
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings, specifications, revision histories, and all controlled documents.
  • Create, route, and process ECNs from initiation through final approval.
  • Communicate changes to Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Service to ensure organization‑wide alignment.
  • Assist Engineers with processing work orders, including updates required to improve or correct designs.
  • Coordinate with Shop Floor Control personnel to ensure changes are implemented accurately.
  • Schedule meetings, organize engineering files, and maintain departmental records.
  • Provide general administrative support to Engineering staff, ensuring smooth daily operations. Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma required; associate degree in engineering technology preferred.
  • Understanding of BOMs, routings, part numbers and revision levels.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (AS400).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks and Draftsight) preferred.
  • Understanding of common fabrication processes (machining, welding, assembly) preferred.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
