As a contract team member, you'll be responsible for performing hands-on fiber optic splicing and testing in a fast-paced, field-based environment. Key Responsibilities Perform fiber optic cable splicing and testing in various environments. Accurately read and interpret splice documentation and plans. Use fusion splicing machines and OTDR testing tools to ensure fiber integrity. Prepare cables and enclosures, and conduct troubleshooting when necessary. Maintain detailed project logs and documentation for each job. Work efficiently in both individual and team settings, ensuring quality control on all tasks. Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment. Travel to job sites as required, often with overnight stays and weekend availability. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in fiber splicing or related utility construction preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and a motivated, self-starting attitude. Reliable and punctual with a solid work ethic. Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly on the job. Fiber optic certification is a strong plus. Must be comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding environments. Valid driver's license required; personal transportation may be necessary for certain projects.
