Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to join our manufacturing and industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, sensors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), with a strong focus on maintaining and troubleshooting complex machinery and control systems. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of industrial equipment through precise calibration, schematic interpretation, and proactive maintenance. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform installation, calibration, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems, including sensors, vision inspection systems, and distributed control systems. Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters, calibrators, and precision measuring instruments; interpret schematics and technical diagrams to diagnose faults accurately. Maintain high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems safely while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols. Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical components involving hydraulics, CNC machinery, and other manufacturing equipment. troubleshoot and optimize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems like Allen Bradley and Siemens to ensure seamless operation. Support field service activities by diagnosing issues on-site at customer facilities or within manufacturing plants. Assist in the design or modification of electrical schematics using AutoCAD or similar software to improve system efficiency. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement upgrades involving sensors, vision inspection systems, or distributed control systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to high voltage work and industrial electrical standards. Provide technical support for calibration procedures to maintain accuracy across various measurement devices. Qualifications Proven experience as an industrial electrician or I&E technician within manufacturing or military environments. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, sensors, calibration techniques, and schematics interpretation. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), CNC machinery, and vision inspection systems. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and calibration instruments. Familiarity with AutoCAD for schematic design; experience with Calypso or similar automation software is advantageous. Understanding of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems along with safety standards. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to field service tasks. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in industrial maintenance is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and clients.
