Job Description

Job Summary The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, electrical systems, and control equipment used in upstream pressure control applications. Duties Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain instrumentation and electrical (I&E) systems, including PLCs, HMIs, control panels, sensors, and wiring, to ensure reliable operation of automated equipment. Diagnose and resolve faults in both hardware and control logic using test equipment, schematics, and control system software. Travel to field locations such as frac pads and drilling rigs to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and customer support in the event of equipment malfunctions. Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to implement corrective actions, improve system reliability, and document issues and resolutions. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards while performing electrical and instrumentation work in various field conditions. Perform hydraulic and pneumatic system operational checks during commissioning. Work alongside MEYER field service technician (mechanical), when required, to resolve system issues or malfunctions. Qualifications & Skills Associate degree or technical certificate in instrumentation, electronics, electrical engineering is preferred but can be substituted for ample experience. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical work, preferably in the oil and gas industry. Experience with control systems is preferred. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Knowledge and experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, and Rockwell Automation is preferred Understanding of electrical systems (e.g., 480 VAC, motors, control circuits) and pressure control equipment. Ability to serve as a customer representative in both office and field environments. Location Based in Epping, North Dakota Willingness to travel is required. Primarily supporting oil and gas locations in North Dakota, occasionally traveling to the surrounding regions for support.
