Job Description

Red River Commodities is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician to keep our food-manufacturing operations running safely and reliably. In this hands-on role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated production and packaging equipment used to process specialty crops and food ingredients. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues, and support equipment installations and upgrades. Working on-site in a plant environment, you'll partner closely with production, quality, and safety teams to improve uptime, protect product quality, and uphold strict food safety and workplace safety standards. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys problem solving, teamwork, and contributing to a stable, growing, family-oriented company. Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated production and packaging equipment in a food-manufacturing environment Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime and ensure consistent product quality Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues and implement effective repairs Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to support continuous improvement and safe operations Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and machine changes in CMMS or related systems Assist with installation, startup, and optimization of new automation and process equipment Follow all food safety, GMP, and workplace safety standards and participate in safety programs Required Skills Industrial automation maintenance PLC troubleshooting Electrical systems (3-phase, controls) Mechanical systems (conveyors, gearboxes, bearings) Pneumatics and hydraulics Preventative and predictive maintenance Reading electrical and mechanical schematics CMMS usage and maintenance documentation Food manufacturing GMP and safety practices Root cause analysis and troubleshooting
