Job Summary:
Develops, designs, builds and tests robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. Creates an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human-robot interaction. Works with cross-functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications. Alternate 12
Hour Weekend B Shift:
Friday evening 6:30 pm - 7:00 am Monday morning

This position is located at our GD Lincoln West facility. Impact of the
Role:
General Profile Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines Works with close supervision Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions:
Assists with the development and implementation of automation systems or components. Supporting or performing the program installation, testing, and maintenance of robots or automated components. Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings. Investigates and troubleshoots defects or bugs, complete repairs and provides preventative maintenance. Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.
Additional Responsibilities:
Programs and troubleshoots PLCs and associated control systems. | Reads and understands equipment schematics. | Designs simple electronic control systems, specifies control equipment, builds and installs control systems.
Required Qualifications:
Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience
OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift. Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
Travel Requirements:
No or very little travel likely.
